Is your liver writing you a “Dear John” letter?
The liver is the largest solid multifunctional vital organ in the body. We can’t live without it. It is special in so many ways:
- Necessary for digestion, detoxification, blood chemistry, helps to regulate blood sugar, metabolism, hormone regulation, assists the immune system, vitamin storage, lymph production…
- It oscillates (vibrates back and forth from a single point)
- It can renew itself – with the right nutrients
- Most detoxification takes place between 1am and 3am – find yourself awake around 3 or 4am after a heavy night? That could be why.
Because the liver is so multifunctional and deals with processes essential to life – and that’s just in connection with the natural biochemical and other necessary body processes – you can imagine how external influences will disrupt that finely tuned system and begin to inhibit function and exhaust it. Disrupters include:
- Alcohol and smoking
- Drugs – prescription and otherwise
- Refined and processed foods – too much sugar and fat, lack of nutrient rich foods
- Fad diets and extreme detox
- Environmental toxins e.g. pesticides, solvents, fumes
- Biological toxins e.g. mould and fungus
- Radiation including from TVs, PCs, mobile phones
- Imbalanced gut biome and/or parasites
- Free radicals in the body
- Neck and/or back injury
Any of these signs might indicate that your liver needs some help:
- Hormone imbalances
- Low bile production and/or tiredness after fatty meals
- Poor digestion and/or floating stools
- Supressed immune system
- Burning or aching joints
- Easy bruising
- Anaemia
- Menstrual problems
- Headaches, poor mood, irritability, depression, fatigue
- Shoulder and upper back problems
- Floating spots in vision
In a systematic kinesiology assessment, we will investigate liver system balance on its own or typically in connection with hormone issues, digestive problems and toxicity. This enables us to pinpoint priority relevance and determine what nutrition an individual needs for support, specific to them.
Maintain your relationship with your liver!
